This coming fall, I will be finishing my bachelor's degree at a local university and working two jobs at the same time. That means that I will be out and about from 7:00AM till 10:00PM on most weekdays. Furthermore, I will be working weekends as well. I didn't anticipate getting this new job until a few weeks ago, and they demand that I work the swing shift after school. But, at least the money is good.
Nonetheless, I don't want to give up gaming. I'll likely have to game one or two hours at a time inside less than comfortable indoor settings at the library and the mall, but I'll make the sacrifice. My current laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T430s, with the latest dual-core full voltage Ivy Bridge processor and the Intel HD 4000. While it is adequate for most games at lower settings, I am exploring the idea of possibly replacing it with a Retina MacBook Pro because it is the lightest laptop in its class with a discrete graphics card.
What do you guys think? Should I sell my T430s, eat a $300 loss in depreciation, and get the Retina MacBook Pro? Or should I try to work within the boundaries of what my T430s is capable of and just deal with it?
