I have a crappy laptop that refuses to even launch Company of Heroes because i dont have the latest Shader and Pixel Shaders. Is there any way to trick it into launching. I know the game wouldn't run well at all if I get it to start but I just want to watch replays of games so that when I go home from college I can play on my desktop. Thanks for any help!
i don't think so... i don't kno this for ccertain but it seems obvious that if you don't have the min system requirement then you won't be able to run the game... can't trick the computer to think you have hardware you don't actually have!
cmon someone come through... the first person who tells me a solution that actually works will get to write whatever they want in my sig for a week as long as it wont get me modded
Unless that "someone" is the developer of the game..there is little you can do to trick the game into thinking that it's running on a machine better than what you have..

I thought if you edited something in the config.ini it could be done? I know you can change the screen resolution there..
That's what I meant by the "force" option..if the game has something like that, you can add a flag and make it go. But if it doesn't have it and is probing the hardware each time before starting..then your SOL..

where could I find this force option? if by the "latest pixel shaders" means you dont have shader 3 support then I doubt forcing will be of much use anyway??
If you don't have the required pixel shader, you won't be able to run it you wouldn't be able to force it the game is built like that. Its possible the menu uses pixel shader as well.
