Hello all. I just got a new[ish] video card, an XFX GeForce 9800GT. But I'm having a strange problem - My gaming performance is very good (I can play Resident Evil 5 with High settings), and yet, my video performance is actually slower than before. I previously used a GeForce 7900 GS, and I could watch HD videos on YouTube, more or less perfectly. But now I'm getting very choppy playback. (I'm not running multiple programs, and my Internet connection is as fast as always) So what can I do to improve performance in this regard?

Download the latest driverrrrrs. Standardly. My bro's laptop has an 8600M GT and with default drivers he can't watch standard divx stuff without lag. After updating, he can watch HD 720p stuff. They make a world of difference bro!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I actually did that already. I have the latest GeForce 9 series drivers (195.62) which I installed today without any problems...Got any other ideas? Maybe I have to change some settings in NVIDIA control panel? (I'm not sure)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It actually seems to have straightened itself out, somehow. I haven't tinkered with any settings since posting, so I guess it just needed some time to 'get into the groove' or something....yeah.

Honestly I hate it when that happens. You don't know why video was lagging but it just seems to fix itself. Leaves you in the darK! Maybe there was a virus scan running in the background that totally brang down your fps.... or something along those lines.
