Trouble playing old PC game.

I installed Carnivores 2 on my old PC(Windows 2000) Anyway, it seemed to have installed just fine and everything in the menu looks perfect but whenever I try to load a map and play the game the loading bar fills up but then all of the sudden it stops and a window opens up saying "Heap allocation error)

Can you guys tell me what's wrong?

Right click the icon then click properties then under compatibility mode select windows 2000 or 95.nVidiaGaMer

Make sure your right clicking on the shortcut and compatability mode is to the right you'll see it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
