so the other day i downloaded the dirt demo, thinking hey my computer can run then this, boy was i sadly mistaken in about 3 days i have come to realize how old my computer really is so i have decided its time for a new one, but this time around i want to build the biggest most awesomest computer ever. I dont really care how much it costs i want to go all out for the new games coming out, i want the fastest best pc, the nicest flat screen monitor, the best mouse, and i guess a good keyboard, but this is where i need help can you guys recommend good video cards, monitors and other things, i dont have alot of experience building computers so i need a little help, i want the best computer so i have decided to build one rather then just buying one but when i started looking around there were so many different types of so many different things and i was so lost i was just looking at prices and figuring the more it costs the better it is :P and one more thing, is there a difference between nvidia cards and radeon ones? any help is greatly appreciated towards building the best pc ever :)

right now im to lazy to post some specs, but leme give ya a few tips, go quad core intel processor, graphics id say 2 8800Ultra SLIed ( though the next series will come out soon), 4gb DDR2 887 ram ( but you can only get max of 3gb on a 32 bit vista) and go vista as OS becuase its future proof) Try and get harddrives which are fast and RAID, go water cooling and overclock all parts, get like a 1k psu, for mobo, the best i can think of is a asus strkier extreme

Now for looks, get the best case you can find, there are loads of good ones, brands like thermaltake, antech, cooler master etc are good brands to go with, hook up some uv lights.

and i think thats all hope that helps

if you have money to burn than y all means take the above posters advice :P

for games a dual core will do fine, games will not gain anything from a quad core.

I probably wouldnt bother with going sli if u get an 8800, new generation will be available within the next six months at a guess and the 88's run all available games just fine :)

ram....can never have to much lol.

it all comes down to your budget :)

This should be in the PC Hardware Forum.
