I am hoping someone can help here... My specs are in my sig.

I have a Q6600 B3 and for some bizarre reason I can not get this system to boot at over 2.7. I have tryed Auto vs manually increasing voltages (1.58 cpu core, 1.5 FSB, 2.3 memory, 1.5v nforce) and still no boot. I have also used linked(synced)/ unlinked RAM etc etc. As soon as I go over 2.693 it wont even start up. My fans are all at max too.

I thought this chip can easily hit 3ghz. Any suggestions?

maybe your ram and FSB ratio is too high? try to male it 1:1, try different combination of increasing FSB vs increasing multiplier?

Try a lower FSB and higher multiplier. What are your temps at 2.7 ghz?

u should put a volts to auto except vcore, do that manually, and set it first at 1.25 or around there, then set you ram to unlinked and increase your FSB gradually, from stock, 1066 to 1333 if u want 3.0ghz, do it in 5 or ten or 15 intervols. then once u get to where u want, test it and if it dose not boot just change the voltages up a bit.

yeah! but u said u have you vcore set to 1.5V there is no need for that, just keep trying, also try to go past 2.7 and see if she boots then.

I have been going from auto voltages, to 1.2,1.3 etc etc. I have also changed multipliers etc. I must have a crap CPU...

I believe it something to do with the 6 series nForce Mobo's and Quad cores. Many people have reported (including me) that it is VERY hard to OC a quad on a 6 series nForce. I have a 650i and a Q6600 and mine wont budge over 2.85Ghz before not booting.

I am just using the AI overclock because if I use the manual my system will freeze when booting up. And I know that it is not over heating issues as my system idles at 32degrees and runs under load at 48. I've given up trying to overclock it now. But good luck to you!
