I went and bought a fairly high end gaming rig: Assus CG Series. It comes with a nvidia g260 and 9 gigs of ddr3 ram. It will play Crysis very well in high settings. But forget ultra high or turning on the AA. Is it a impossible dream to play Crysis in the highest mode possible? What does it take?

don't even bother with AA in crysis, it makes your frame rates dwindle and doesn't make anything look much better. My computer can run crysis on a tweaked very high config at 1680x1050 comfortably and the GTX280 is fractionally better than a 4870. If you want a good config have a look on www.crymod.com

I get stable 30 fps on very high 1920x1080. Its dips just below 30 with AA on.

I run it with 4xAA on all high settings just fine. But I'm adding a second G92 later today, so I'll see if I can run it on very high then...

If it isn't to much to ask, around what price range did you build your PCs for? Also, can anywhere point me in the right direction for the hardware to get. I'd like to run Crysis Very High DX10 at 1280x720. I just don't have the slightest clue where to start, I just want to make sure I don't buy anything that isn't needed. Thanks for the help.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY ARE YOU BUMPING OLD THREADS? And instead of hijacking an old thread, make a new one.

LMAO fairly high-end? I'm guessing the only thing high-end about the computer you bought is it's price tag.

The GTX260 is a cheap 130 Dollar videocard, there is nothing high-end about it.

9 GB's of Ram?!?!? I hope you bought that for massive photoshop files or something because for gaming thats just a super waste.

Games 5 years from now won't use 9 Gigs of ram.

OP bought his computer from Best Buy. It's a nice rig and it's decently priced ($1199). Core i7 920, 9GB ram, 1TB HDD, GTX 260. I'd say buy another GTX 260 and SLI it, that'll improve performance. I suggest that to people when they come into my work looking to buy it. That computer is also getting phased out btw.

It doesnt take to much, I can play Crysis Maxed out at 1920x1080, no AA always above 30 frames. 30 frames works out great in Crysis, the motion blur in it is very well done.
