So many games have been made, and we've dabbled in most of them - taking mental and even emotional notes of the best of the best. We pwnt nubs in the Wildy and we built utopia on our Tekkit servers. We plundered and hoarded our way to Diablo and we forced our park-goers onto that unfinished roller-coaster with the 80-mph take-off. Some of us even wanted to be The Guy. We gamers have been there for each step of PC gaming. The strides were long and they stirred the world around. Some great games have come and gone. I'm making this forum topic to tell PC gamers about a project which sounds like the resounding footfall of the next step in gaming. TUG - The Untitled Game, by Nerd Kingdom TUG is, as the topic title says, an open-world, MMO sandbox-adventure whose entire developmental premise is centered around the player, from the way the immediate world comes together, to the changes implemented in the continuous updates. The game starts you off as a "Seed," or a child, and your character develops, as you play through the seasonal cycles, into an adult, whose features change according to your actions. If you swing a heavy hammer, you'll develop upper-body muscles; If you're lazy, you'll get some belly rolls; If you run, you'll shrink to a speedy little twig. The world around you uses randomly generating chunks which are written as you move through the world. Within these chunks, a variety of ancient structures, dungeons, villages, and natural formations can occur, along with tons of animals, creatures, and NPCs to kill, tame, enslave, or , hell, worship - whatever you want to do. A strong focus in development is the implementation of companions who assist you in your adventures, however, the development team has expressed an interest in adding more complexity to companions and their potential within the game. Throughout the world, the player will come across a myriad of different consumables, decorative or requisite items, weapons, et cetera. According to the development team, all items found within the game are actually craft-able by the player. The crafting system is characterized by modular asset design, which allows larger variety in item crafting. A modular system allows the player to craft, for example, two swords with the same blade, but different hilts, or two hatchets with the same type of stick, but different heads. Some pieces will not work with others, prohibiting sorts of hybrids, but the system adds much variety, regardless. Now, the crafting plus the open-world sandbox game-type may evoke comparison to Minecraft, but rest assured, TUG certainly has its own take on the basic idea. Apart from the adventure, the different method of crafting, the in-depth player involvement, and the character development, the game has a unique and innovative system for graphics. Like Minecraft, blocks can be placed to make structures, but these structures take form apart from the blocks that are placed. The textures merge and the corners smooth. The dirt falls and curves into rolling hills. The tree leaves bunch and the windows are noted by the smaller stones or bricks which frame them. All the pieces really come together and build an immersive picture of the world. This game stands out as a potential classic, like the best we gamers have known, from RuneScape to Roller Coaster Tycoon (screw it, I think it's a classic and the consonance is nice). To learn more about TUG, follow this link to their page on the Kickstarter website: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nerdkingdom/tug-1 Now, this game is still in pre-alpha development, and really needs early backers. The tiers at the bottom of the page display the rewards for backing the project, and they range from as low as $10, all the way up to $8000. The goal for the team is $215,000 by the end of May. If you can spare some money, please help this game come into fruition. I am not part of the Nerd Kingdom team, and I was not asked to post this. I have posted this at my own accord to help the team gain enough backers for TUG's development.

Very interesting, I might give this a pledge.

It is a shame this thread will likely be closed for advertising, I have been a PC gaming enthusiast for 20 years and I think kickstarter is a great thing and should be allowed to be shared on any PC gaming forum. Sadly we have a ton of negative nancy gamers these days who have to ruin everyone else's enjoyment just because they don't agree with something.

Haha, whoops. I hadn't considered it being closed for that reason. I actually just made the account to get the word out about TUG, but I guess that's not the right reason to talk about something... o.O. Well, at least you're interested. I hope you enjoy the game! Tell your friends about it!

I just have one question. Is there going to be a monthly fee? I never have and never will pay to play.

I'll feign interest for the sake of it. What is the revenue model for this game?
