Would this be any good for overclocking a E6600 processor.

Would overclocking reduce the life of the CPU. Or does it not really matter as long as you keep it cool ?

Currently, that is the best stock aircooler on the market.

You should be able to hit anywhere from 3.4-3.8ghz with that cooler as long as your silicon/mobo/ram can keep up.

Overclocking does reduce the life, but it will last a lot longer then how long it will take for it to become outdated. Plus as long as you keep the temps normal it will be fine.

I own a Tuniq Tower 120 and I can say without, a doubt, that is an awesome Heatsink & fan. The installation is not the easiest but it is well worth it.

but doesnt replacing the stock cpu fan viod the warante? so your screwed if something happens...Motokid6
Yeah if you tell Intel (or whoever you bought the computer from) that you switched. Just play dumb, LOL. I did it with a graphics card, put a NV silencer on it. The it messed up and I replaced the stock HSF and RMA'ed it.

Overclocking period voids the warranty, just keep your mouth shut. And yes the Tuniq is great, just be sure your case can fit it, if it has side fans directly perpendicular from the top of the cpu, there's a good chance it won't fit without removing them or the whole side panel.

Ther Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and the Monsoon are holding better clocks and temps barely lower then the Tuniq, but the Tuniq, its a rocking HSF, thats for sure. If they had an am2 version, i would look at it. but for my next setup, Im doing the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a Thermaltake Thunderblade 120mm.  Its really a toss up over the 3.  Ultra 120 Extreme has been known to have some bracket problems, but Thermalright fixed it apparently for the 775 socket.

ITs tied with the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and the Monsoon. Those 2 have been known to hold higher clocks and lower temps too. Altho, the Tuniq, its beautifully big :D

1 fellow has 2 x Tuniq towers on his AMD 4x4 setup. It looks insane. Amanda Titan is the only cooler tha uses restraints to hold it up and not crack the board, its over 2.5lbs. Its also Thermo-Electric tho.

I would not say it beats the crap out of it. From the reviews I have read, it beats it by 1-2 degrees, and that is buying your own fan for it.

its not just the degrees, it clocks better too. Also, check the reviews on the Ultra Extreme, not just the Ultra 120. They added 3 more heatpipes.

You are confused.

The Ultra 120 is about even with the Tuniq120.

The unreleased Ultra120+, aka Extreme, adds two more heatpipes into the mix and really increases the thermal performance, destroying pretty much any air cooler.

Pair one of those with a S-Flex 1600rpm fan and put it on the upcoming Yorkfield or K10, ohhh man...

Probably hitting low-mid 3ghz on K10 and at least 4ghz on Yorkfield.

its released.  Altho loud, think of the clocks you would get with the Silverstone 110.  Lol, 140CFM, ridiculous.  Imma look to a Thunderblade 120mm, which is quiter, but pushes 72CFM respectably.

Unknown price and release date. I emailed them a few weeks ago and they basically said nothing.

I would guess probably around $60, which doesn't include a fan. There have also been some rumors that they plan on shipping them this summer.

Here it is - $65cdn, no fan. Some troubles wiht 775 right now, but Thermalright apparently has a newer connector done or is being sent out now. If not, you have to bend the pins a little. This is only on some 775 boards tho. not all http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=23531&vpn=ULTRA-120-EXTREME&manufacture=THERMALRIGHT

Thanks for the help everyone. You have been most helpful.

From that picture the Tuniq looks massive. I will have to make sure it actually fits in my PC lol.
