Turn based RPGs for the PC

Just finished FF VII (again).

Any suggestions?

FF VIII, Breath of Fire 4, Septera Core, and Last Remnant. That's all I can think of on the top of my head.

Puzzle Quest (Yeah, I said it)

Try Fallout 1 or 2 from GoG. A word of warning however, these games are quite different from jrpgs in that enemies don't stand in a line. It is closer to Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem but is very open and focuses more on interaction and choices to tell a story instead of it being fed to you on one line. Some people like this and some don't, I personally love it. If you like these kind of games then try Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 (these are real time out of the box but with minor tweaking in the options it can be made turn based).

Temple of Elemental Evil. Just be sure to get the Co8 patches (Co8.org).

yes there is ff11 in fact was dual released on ps2 and pc at once i own ff11 + all its expansions for pc (including wings of the goddess)

Is FF11 turned based? And can you play the game fully, or at all offline? I think the OP was asking about old school turned based RPGs (even if they are newer games).

nope its online 100% man however a large chunk of the game can be done solo (if you dont mind alot of lonely playing as the leveling system is slow at best)

It's also know as Odi-um. You can get it cheap from GOG.

As another poster said, NWN 2 is technically turn-based, though it has the illusion of real-time (it's turn-based going on in the background). Ditto for KotOR 1 and 2. If what you're wanting is Final Fantasy-style turn-based combat, then none of these qualify (that said, they're all great games).
