Ya, im huge fan of turn based rpgs but not big enough to buy a ps2 or any console to play them. I love my pc, and i really want some good turn based rpgs to make there way to the pc. Or just single player rps, i dont want play mmorpgs all the time. So i dont i wanna play ff 11. So im wondering are there any rpgs games out on the pc that are turn based or are the same art style as final fantasy, legen of dragoon or lineage 2 or The Last Remnant. Also will The Last Remnant be coming to the pc? Or game called Lost Oddessey.

If there aren't any rpgs like the ones im lookin for out, are they on the way? OR will they never come to the pc?? if you know some that are comin can you give me the name of the game and link if possible thanks.

You're looking for JRPGs..... Personally I'd suggest paying the $100 or so for a PS2 and taking that route instead of trying to find crappy PC ports and/or JRPGs that have english subtitles. It's just not a very popular genre with the PC crowd.... You may as well have asked for some fighting games for the PC.

PC gamers *love* RPGs, it's one of the best genres out there. RPGs and JRPGs are completely different.

Look up Septerra Core. It's an old game now, but it might be what you want. I also think Grandia II came out for PC in North America.

They're not turn based but an RPG. Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire are the only 2 that come to mind.

honestly there's no real turn based RPGs like that. You might just do yourself mucho massive favors by just scrapping up some money for a PSOne and grab a classic RPG or two of the MANY available for it. Then sell it afterwards. That should end up costing you like $15 after selling it? At most.

Well, the Baldur's Gate Series is close to a turn based RPG, basiclly hit the space bar to pause and then issue commands and space bar to unpause. Awesome RGP game, one of the best made. A little old but Black Isle did some great work on it. Neverwinter nights plays somewhat like it it, but it just doesnt capture the feeling or game play of Baldur's gate. But if you want true turn based....you have to go back a few years, Star Trails, is a true turn based, and major RPG you'll find. Very indepth character creations, but bad graphics, even then. Or get The new Bards Tale game, has the 3 old Bards tale games included, turn based and still fun to play.

No, Anachronox is the answer. It's one of, if not the only JRPG style PC game - and it's not even japenese. It's got the same combat formula, and same linear storyline and questing - IMO it's better than the other bland and boring JRPGs. Check it out, it's one of my favourite games. Suffers from bugs, but boy is it great.

So totally thirded. I don't really like the combat system from the looks of it, but the machinima got me hooked on the story. It also has two of my most favorite video game quotes ever: "I will kill you-with DEATH!" "Future, huh? Want to know the difference between you and the you five minutes ago? The you five minutes ago had five minutes to live!"

The PC is the home of turn-based RPGs. There are hundreds of them, but they are all quite old by now. They're still great games, however, and if you want to play a true turn-based RPG (and you don't have your rulebooks handy), you should check out some of the old classics like Ultima or Wizardry, and maybe even play some text-based adventure games. It's awesome stuff.

You can try the Grandia series, it was ported to the PC a very long time ago and plays like a PS1 RPG.

The heroes of Might and Magic series is an excellent line of turn based rpg (ish) strategy games. Number 4 or 5 would be after 2005. Disciples 2: Dark prophecy is a similar game.

Kotor series, Baldur's gate series, Icewind dale, Neverwinter Nights, are all strong single player rpg's chech them out.
