It does look good and it's good to see that they are trying toresurrect this series back to stardom.
Very true indeed. Their art staff are incredible. Some of the best I seen.It does look good and it's good to see that they are trying toresurrect this series back to stardom.

Look at all that front page advertising. CLEARLY it's a good game.ishkoo
More like CLEARLY it's a high-profile game that GS won't rate poorly no matter how it might turn out.
Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the game a lot, myself. However, it's also plainly a very consolised game in many ways, in such a way that I can tell it'll have that console feel pulling it down at least a little for the PC. Still, I'm hoping it'll have enough positive aspects to outshine that negative one, and I'm sure it'll be more than worth playing. But my point is that with the amount of advertising it's getting, it will inevitably be kept from getting a lower score even if it does turn out less impressive than expected.
[QUOTE="zero9167"]it's crap 8.0 at the most.OoSuperMarioO8.0 is crap?
I agree, that's awfully harsh and distorted logic. Not to mention presumptuous. The game isn't out yet, making calls that specific about it so nonchallantly is kind of ridiculous.
[QUOTE="PickGlove243"]Either that, or the person who reviews it is going to get fired >__>ishkoo
True story. Wouldn't be suprised if they had a new person review it.
Like they did with C&C3?
I don't care if it gets as a bad score... the gameplay looks liek uber crapt.com to me.
I also loved the first turoks... turok 2 imo was one of the most challenging fps ever and one of the best. So take my critcis as what they are. I feel like there will never be an aweosme dino fps game until valve/crytek decides to do it... Com'on we want ragdoll realistic damage uber pwnage AI forest @ night team work online...
lol I'm too drunk I need to go to sleep....
I just wanna stab things, seriously, if you can play the entire game with the knife, that's all I'm gonna use.
That's the only reason I wanna play the game...to stab things with those "execution" sequences.
I know this game wasn't anything to get excited about, so that's why I don't really give a crap, and just wanna stab things.
I don't get why people make such a big deal out of journalistic quid pro quo, and I don't get why people are so happy to put stock in the review scores that games get.
Firstly, everyone scratches everyone's back for a good scratching back. The concept of pure, undistorted journalism is laughable.
Secondly, people should not be basing their purchases on the opinion of one person, just because he works for a popular website. Read te review, weigh up the content, but take the actual score with a pinch of salt. You only need look to the forums to see that one man's nine is another man's five.
If it gets nine, so what?

Too bad not everyone has that mentality :?.
Gametrailers has the worst game reviews I've ever seen but there are people who refuse to buy a game if it doesn't get a good score on there.
Reading some of these comments in here have me pretty shocked... first, I didn't know Turok had such a following on the PC. Secondly, what's the deal with worrying if the game is too "consolized" the game is a console series.
There's no way it's going to have the depth of Half-Life or Crysis so I think some of you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. I'm thinking this game will get a 7.5 - 8.0 however, I'm still going to check it out to see if the series has failed again or there's a ray of hope.

PC-gamers like to blame consoles for everything it seems...
Lazy, incompetent devs? Of course the consoles are to blame! That was sarcasm if anyone was in doubt.
I think this will follow in the steps of mediocre overhyped games like Timeshift, SoF: Payback, Blacksite 51 and to a certain degree Jericho. I hope I'm wrong though.
The only thing I'm worried about is whether or not it will be a good port. Turok is one of my all time favorite series and I really hope that it makes a comeback. I do believe that this game will be an improvement over Turok: Evolution which would be a step in the right direction, but I don't know if it can make as big of an impact as the original Turok game or Turok 2.Reading some of these comments in here have me pretty shocked... first, I didn't know Turok had such a following on the PC. Anyway if it is a crappy port I'll probably just buy it for my Xbox 360. Heck I might just do that instead of buying the PC version. The console versions are coming out sooner then the PC version. . . aren't they?
seriously, though, it looks pretty sweet. I loved the Turok games even though one of them was the only game to ever make me motion sick.mrbojangles25
I've never played a Turok game, but the thought of killing a raptor with a knife makes my palms sweat. Throw in some nude women and that's my three favourite things in the world, all in the same game!
I think most people are biased because of its multiplat status rather than actually considering the game content, but games like Escape from Butcher Bay and Morrowind (to name just two killer multiplat titles) should really make people think twice - especially when no one's even played it.
I do look at the content of the reviews to see what's really in a game to help me judge. But i also weigh my opinion on the Meta-critic. Which is the average of all reviews combined. That's a good indicator of weather itl be a really good game or not. If it get's a metacritic score of 6.0...it's a "dont bother" game.

LOL I hear you man! If they had those three things, I'd be set for a looong time ;)

Yeah, very good point. I forgot Morrowind was also a console. I really don't care what platform a game is made for. If it's a good game, it's a good game. I only play PC myself, but plenty of my friends play console and there's nothing wrong with that. Releasing a game on multiple platforms does not necessarily make it a bad game.
