I REALLY don't want to spend $280.00 for a 8800 GT. I'm not trying to run Crysis, I want to run Unreal Tournament 3 on high settings with at least 60 fps. I was thinking if I bought a 8600 GT now (around $100.00) I could add another one down the road and get some good performance. But if that is totally retarded I may go with the 8800. Any help would be appreciated

You can get an 8800 GT for $240. A single 8800 GT will demolish 2 8600GTs in SLi.

UT3 ain't demanding, even my HD 2600XT could run it on high very playable @ 1680x1050.

But between the 2,get 8800GT definitely.or even a HD 3850/70 will be better choices than 8600GT SLI.

Demolish two 8600 cards? Well, for 240, I guess I'll go with the 8800. Thanks guys.

One more question. This 8800 GTS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127328) is only 320MB but is $179.00 after the rebate. Is this a good choice? Is the 512MB way better?

The 320GTS is a bit cheaper than the 8800GT now so it isnt actually an obsolete card as you may think.Although i would chose the 512MB 3850 instead.

Thanks for the recommendation. It's a real tough choice. I can get the 8800 GT for 229.99, or the HD 3850 for 174.99. Such a tough decision.

Well a HD3850 512MB will serve you very well.Ofcourse the 8800GT is still worth the extra money.I know it's a tough choice but you wont go wrong either way.
