The first question is, what game can last you for a really long time? I mean, even if you finish the main questline or w/e, there's still a lot of stuff to do. A prime example would be any of The Elder Scrolls series (Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind...) but I'm done with these already. Anything else? It doesn't necessarily have to be a RPG although it would be the most probable genre.

The other question is, do you think it's still worth getting GW1 if I want to start GW2 as soon as it's released? Guild Wars 2 do have BETA scheduled for March I believe but it doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna release it a month afterwards. Is there any reliable release time scheduled (for example Summer 2012 or w/e)?

1) WoW 2) Depends, personally I can't stand it (I'd rather install the ancient Diablo 2 and play online) as for GW 2, even if the beta starts in March, the game still "might not" make it in 2012, if it makes it, I doubt it'll be out this Summer.

umm second question the answer is yes getitng involved in guildwars 1 before 2 gives you alot of nice free stuff for getting involved now. however in order to recieve those benefits you need to own prophecies and/or factions and/or nightfall AND eye of the north (very important you own eotn). and its likely that gw1 players will be shown favor in gw2 beta selection

Got a link for specific "free" stuff, that GW 1 players will get in GW 2? might force myself to play it if it's anything decent, found something on gw wiki, but it seemed passable at best, from what you say, it sounds like there's something else that's worth it.

Thanks, some of those rewards seem pretty interesting, might have another go at it sooner or later.

Thanks for replys so far, I need some more on the first question though, I used to play WoW but I don't anymore, also I'm looking for a Single Player game in that one.

i think it's quite likely it will come out this year since, to quote Mike O'Brien, "So welcome to the Year of the Dragon – the year of Guild Wars 2." referring to the Chinese zodiac calendar year of the dragon. http://www.arena.net/blog/dragon

hmm minecraft, tf2 is a pretty lengthy game in terms of replayability, oh you would probably also dig SPAZ to no end
