If you are looking for a new game during the holidays with xmas coming up, here are two that I HIGHLY recomend.

- Anno 2070:Tons of depth, extremely addicting, I was worried about the new setting before but playing the game im having a blast.Great game for vets of the series and not to bad for new comers to has the campaign is a big tutorial.

- To The Moon: Fantastic story so far, great atmosphere and music also. Feels like a book/videogame, pretty special little indie game this one. i am happy gamespot gave it a review. This might be the first game ever that has had me laughing and then nearly at tears, best soundtrack of the year and what characters/story.

One thing that these two games have in common despite beign in two different categories is that they have simply AMAZING soundtracks. If you thought Skyrim, Bastion or Crysis2 had good soundtrack, wait till you hear both of these, the music really adds to the game.

Two somewhat under the radar games that have kind of snuck in around winter time without to many people noticing. If you are at all interested in a story heavy rpg with the look of Earthbound or Chrono Trigger then give it a try Too The Moon a try. If you want a extremely deep strategy/city building game that also has fantasti music and graphics, give it a go. After being dissapointed with the latest AC and NFS games these two have really impressed me alot.

One is somewhat short (from what I hear) and the other can last for years on end, yet both are impressing me a ton and both have as I said above excellent soundtracks. Some of you have put me onto some great games in the past that I missed out on, so just doing the same here for those interested. Was not sure I would be playing any other games while Skyrim is out but these two have been well worth the time. I gotta say its a great time to be a pc gamer ;)

The piano music sounds like an artist called Calvi Jones's music. Very nice and relaxing.

Yep, To The Moon is a great little surprise. It's a great story experience, though it is quite short (took me around 4 hours to play through)

I really want to play Anno 2070. I really enjoyed the previous Anno games, but this crazy games release fest has made me a bit strapped for cash, so probably wont be until next year, sadly.

If any of them support dx9 or something lower. I don't want anything to do with them. You'll get better games with a console if thats the case.

I paid 1000 dollars for my pc and graphics card... not to play some corny looking game like that. Unless its a highly competitive multiplayer like LoL, or SC2.... throw it in the garbage can. I'm a pc gamer.

Remember the days when Unreal, Quake, BF2, and many many more popular titles were pc only exclusives. not only were they pc exclusives.... but they were leading in innovation.....and they were also mostly ONLINE ONLY! they never had singleplayers. the singleplayers, the first games,, were demos for the multiplayer in the future now when looking back.

Only support the leading companies that support PCs. EA Dice and only a couple others right now if anything. Any game that has more dx10/11 and less 9. Tell these companies not to forget who made them, and who will break them. Consoles are becoming pcs and will almost be the same in the future. So you can't hide from multiplayers, and you can't hide from people downloading DEMOS... i repeat DEMOS of your game before they decide to support and invest in it. This is the future. Its inevitable. Use the hackers as beta testers. Thats what they are. FREE BETA TESTERS......get with the program. this is a new age.... or get lost.

All Steve Jobs did was help to keep people computer illiterate, with all this overpriced powerless micro crap they walk around with... thats more of an illusion then practical. But trust me, Your cable box, your tv, your pc, everything in your house will be one unit in the future. its inevitable. Theres google and many people read forums now, and they will start buying new pcs again.

I think you would be happier as a console gamer. Most of them are AAA whores like appears to be. Real PC gamers enjoys innovative and/or creative games despite the production values.

you mean anti aliasing whores? yes thats why we pay the 500 dollars for the graphics card my dude. We want to see that in games and we only support those games. We're techies. We're hardcore gamers...etc...

in a game like skyrim. I can put the resolution all the way up, and the aa on full af16x also full etc.... it makes no diff in fps. thats what graphics cards are for.

what will make a diff is all the other settings for that game haha. It just seems to be very cpu intensive. which is what happens with old software on new hardware. Its just not utilizing it to its full potential. my card isn't even getting that hot...goes to like 68. should be going to like 80 lol. not that thats a good way of barometer of telling just a quick gauge.

IBM is still holding the human race back...haha I kid but I'm serious. They still are convincing the industry that we still need cpu's for remedial tasks. They actually have us believing that GPU's.,, nvida processors power the MOST POWERFUL pc on earth. yet they want us to believe it can't handle remedial "everyday" tasks and we still need ibm's cpu's. HAHAHAHAHAHahhhhhhaaaaaaAAAAAAA sure.... I think consoles are more advanced in a way then cpus when it comes to dual memory, meaning same memory for both video and system...... but also how their cpu basically barely does anything....and I'd say everything mostly runs off their gpu. The PC's have more powerful hardware available...but its not as efficient in a way.

The CPU holds us back.. especially for lazy programmers who don't want to build engines optimized for the new graphical hardware technology.

Sigh, so who cares exactly? Your saying you will not play good games because theres no optimization on pc? I spend money on a graphics card to enjoy myself not worry about whats going to run. I think you missed the point of games.

I'd like to check out both of those games, as I I could probably have a lot of fun with them. I just don't know how much extra I'll have to spend on them after all of my holiday purchases.

To the Moon has an amazing soundtrack. I haven't felt like that listening to music in a long time..

So awesome the music, same with the writing and characters, really get to know them and feel for them, good stuff not found in many games.

These are two amazing and innovative titles for pc that we are lucky to have and some people want to complain about graphics?? serious? :P
