two new hard drives

sorry if this is a stupid question...but this is my first time building a comp and to save money a friend gave me two hard drives and i just wanted to know if they would work together as raid 0 and if its hard to set up that way..

these are the two hard drives he gave me

Do not put those hard drives together in RAID, only put hard drives together in RAID when they have speeds(7200rpms stay with 7200rpms) and they have around the same capacity. Those are way off with those two hard drives. Those are the right cables.

Here is what you do: Raptor as OS, storage as the 500gig.

okay thats good then so i can still atleast get some use out of this raptor....sooo how would i make the raptor be the one that uses the operating system? is choosing the harddrive gonna be an option when i download the OS

It's when you buy the OS with money, yes. You just put the disc in, select your hard drive.
