Ok so I have seen two worlds 2 and thought it looked ok, but with the mixed reviews I am not to sure if i should get it or not, what do you guys think of it if you have played it. I am also looking for a good RPG to last me until February, so any RPG that has longliveity would be good so suggestions please.Neonice901I played Two Worlds 1, and got it for like 3 bucks...it was worth 3 bucks. If any indication, then Two Worlds 2 is light years better, so i will wait until it drops down in price to less than 4-5 dollars, and am definitely buying it then, whenever that is
I'm still finishing this game and like it a lot. This might be the only game in 10 years I replay through again(as a Mage this time) because the magic/mage system in this game is pretty impressive. Also, only thing I hate is the few number of inventory UI, lots of scrolling, and this is WITH the inventory mod. There are a fair few mods for this game too, which is nice.
I found Two Worlds II to be very enjoyable once I got past the intro bit

Risen is also a good one to check out.Croag821Ok I have looked at both now, and would like people to compare them, I am only going to choose one so which one do you guys think I should choose and why ?
I'd choose Two Worlds 2 over Risen as it offers everything Risen does - and more. A big and beautiful world to explore, unique settings (african, asian, mediterranean) a fresh take on RPG tropes, plenty of fun abilities and opportunities to develop your character and fun combat. Also it's pretty funny and looks amazing.
So many mixed reactions to this game. I've now been on the fence about buying it for about a month now. Fairly sure there is NO demo for it either. Just a heads up for everyone, the Two Worlds 2 pack is still available over at GamersGate for only $25. Features TW2 and the pirates expansion. Fairly sure that is cheaper than steams Christmas daily deal of the TW2 franchise. About 6 more days until that deal expires.

Both. TW2 is more console derived(that's a bad thing) and has higher production values. I enjoyed Risens dialogue, UI and missions much more but is visually less appealing.
"Storyline is weak and plain"
:) What an endorsement !
TC, are you only looking for an open world action rpg ?
What i am really looking for is an Open world, Action RPG, with a good story, likeable characters, customability and months of gameplay, from the last 6 years. I want games that may be similar to DA:O or Skyrim, and I cetainly don't mind JRPGs.Neonice901But DAO wasn't open world or an action RPG.
I don't know about Two Worlds 2 (this thread is getting me a bit tempted to buy it), but I'll recommend Divinity 2: Dragon Knight Saga. flipin_jackass
Another fine recommendation. Played through Two Worlds 2 and the expansion. Never got into TW1 and I had some trouble getting into 2 in the beginning. I guess the crafting system in 2 got me hooked plus there is a lot of diversity in the environment and the missions. As long as you don't expect a very polished game, I'd say it is absolutely worth playing.
But DAO wasn't open world or an action RPG. I said similar by this I should of highlighted the fact I meant the team idea the customability and the likeable characters and the apprectitable villain, whilst Skyrim for open world and the fact I have played both and enyoed both should hopefully give people the a rough outline of what sort of games I would possibably like.[QUOTE="Neonice901"] I want games that may be similar to DA:O or Skyrim, and I cetainly don't mind JRPGs.bussinrounds
I don't know about Two Worlds 2 (this thread is getting me a bit tempted to buy it), but I'll recommend Divinity 2: Dragon Knight Saga. flipin_jackassThank you but I have already played and completed this bad boy for the 360, and the idea of a new story is what is helping want a new RPG that's why the story being good is key.
I actually have some pretty good memories of this game. The game is big and long and I haven't really read any other reviews other than the IGN review which I will tell you now; is a complete joke and shouldn't even be taken seriously because it's like the worst review I've ever seen and there is so much stuff in that review is wrong that it's amazing, he clearly wasn't very happy to review this game and he clearly went into the game with a bad mentality, just go to the IGN forum of Two Worlds 2 and read the huge thread about his sucky review! No really, his review is the so unprofessional I could rant about it much much more, it's tempting but I won't!!!
Anyway to the point; I actually have good memories of this game, is that weird? When I think back of it, I think of spring, and a slight warm and sunny day, combined with a light chilly breeze. The quests are fairly interesting, it's a big and open world to explore, combat is OK but magic combat is much better though, the environment is what captured me, I actually really really liked the environment(as I described above!). The music isn't bad but it's not that fancy either, if I remember right, some tracks reminded me of Baldur's Gate 2...
I bought it full price and I thought it was worth it, so yeah I think you should try it out!
There were not that many reviews outside Germany indeed. Here are just the review scores from the two major German PC gaming magazines to contrast the dreadful IGN review:

Two worlds 2 (looks great in dx10) was my favourite rpg , but then Skyrim came along ...
and blew it outta water.

Two Worlds II is actually pretty good. Other RPGs that are open-world: Fallout 3/New Vegas (I really recommend these two), Risen, Gothic 3 (which is bigger than Risen but has performance issues), Oblivion and of course, Skyrim.
And The Witcher 2, while not open-world, does strike a good balance between narrative and freedom of exploration.

Then The Witcher 2 or New Vegas might be a good idea. The Witcher 2 is the most narrative-driven out of the two, but like I said, the exploration segments aren't bad at all and the game comes with the distractions (crafting, brawling, drinking, mini-games) of most open-world games.
