Ok, I just bought a PS3, and as I was hooking it up 5 minutes ago I felt the need to run over here and ask a quick hardware question...

I've got: an LCD TV, 360 Elite, PS3, and Cable box, Linksys Cable gateway, and cable modem, all hooked up to 1 power strip, and then the 360 HD-DVD player plugged into the wall...

Should I be worried? What can I do to prevent a fire? Or am I even at risk since I'm only ever running a few of the electronics at a time.

You should be fine as long as your power strip is of good quality. Also make sure you keep your stuff clean and try to keep your wiring neat (not always easy, let me tell yah!). Oh! Also keep your components well ventilated.

with all that equipment you should invest in a surge protector, not have all your kit running through one power strip.

You also want to make sure all your devices are getting enough power. Definitely invest in 2 good surge protectors and hook them up to different outlets. I have my LCD, PS3, and Toshiba HD-A1 hooked into one surge protector. While i have my 360, receiver, and subwoofer hooked into another.
