Hi everybody =]

I'm new, nice to meet you all.

Humm i saw few players with some cool letters on their nick name i tried to do the same but unfortunately came out with zero result.
The only way for me to get these letters is only if i paste them straight from the Web Site to my user.ini, my question is if there's any other way of doing that? If anyones wonder the Alt key doesn't work either even with the Num lock on.

Second question ^^ i also have a problem with the key binds, i want to be able to change my nick name with 1 key only (instead of the regular way- setting-player) but although i wrote down the nick names next to the keys id selected it just doesnt seem to work : i did it through the user.ini and through the AO (console->Advanced->Raw Key Bindings) the names appears to be there but the commands (keys) dont work when i press them. any idea what can i do about it? Or how can i key bind in some other way?

Last question... i saw a player that constantly move thing that we do by pressing the letters- J K L ; the dancing thing, he told me i can make my character to move like that too but didnt mention how. if anyone knows what i mean i will be happy to know how to do that.

Btw is there any other cool things?

Thanking you all in advance !

To your first question: Go to Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->Character Map. Go through, select the characters you want in your name, and then copy+paste it into your .ini, *or* you can use the "setname" console command in-game (use tilde [~] to bring down the console.) Use CTRL+V to paste while in-game.

To your second question: you can bind a key to the "setname" command to accomplish this. For example, if you wanted to bind setting your name to "Bob" with the key "x", you could open up the console and type in: set input x setname Bob

...pretty simple. Replace "x" with the key you want, and "Bob" with the name you want.

To your third question: this is a bit trickier..it involves binding your movement keys to what are called "piped" commands. That is, binding your movement keys to execute two or more commands with a single keypress (in this case, just two: the movement command itself, and the taunt command desired.) For example, you could do the below (in the console, again press [~]) to change your forward movement key (in this case, and by default "W") to function this way:

set input w MoveForward | Taunt throatcut

This would make your "W" key not only act as the normal movement key, but it'll also do the "throatcut" taunt every time you pressed it. Note the "|" between the two commands. This is commonly known as the 'pipe operator,' and it is used to link multiple commands together. Just to be clear: you get this character by pressing Shift+Backslash on most keyboards.

Do note that I haven't played UT2004 in ages, but from what I recall, all of the above should be accurate.

Edit: Oh, and welcome to the forums :P

^^ You will be surprise to know how many players still play it, as a matter of fact most of them prefer to play UT2004 more than the 99 or 03.

I like every thing about it and satisfied from the people who plays it too =]

No problem.

And yeah, just rebind the key to its old command. For example, the original binding for the "W" key is simply:

set input w MoveForward

^Just type that in the console, and it'll reset your "W" key to only function as "MoveForward."

Another cool thing you can do to check what keys are bound to: Type in the console "get input x" ..replace "x" with a key of your choice, and you can find the specific command that any given key is bound to before changing it (so you can easily revert changes you make.)

Humm about that ----> "To your first question: Go to Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->Character Map. Go through, select the characters you want in your name, and then copy+paste it into your .ini " Where exactly am i suppose to paste them :P? inside the ini.files but where? empty place? or as a key binds?

About that Second part :P "you can bind a key to the "setname" command to accomplish this. For example, if you wanted to bind setting your name to "Bob" with the key "x", you could open up the console and type in: " Code:set input x setname Bob

I have a problem it says- "Unrecongnize command" i wrote set input set name maybe something is missing? or maybe theres not suppose to be space between them? like setinput or set input?

The third part i havent tried yet =]

It's either Unrecognize Command, or, Unrecognize Class input (?)
/ * - + can't be used as key binds?

^^ ok i got it =] i manage to do it with the "set name" system (ty btw), The problem is that i cant bind the nick names as long as i dont have the letters in my user.ini i believe. so since first i need to copy+paste the letters i need to know where exactly do i need to paste them?
