Unless you really like the visual superiority, UT3 doesn't offer anything over UT2004 that would be worth the extra cost. And minus the visuals UT2004 is probably a slightly better game (again, that may change with mods)
Yea... ut3 is better ut2k4 with better graphics, and for the moment without community input, much much worse maps. People don't really play 2k4 that much anymore, and nobody played ut3 to begin with. I would consider COD4.

Well as much as I would completely agree with you on that... it is Unreal Tourny. I always figured the fanbase would be quick to jump. Anyways if you really do think about it, $15 for a game that will last you well enough until UT3 gets its footing? I would say do that.
you can get unreal anthology (which includes ut2k4) for $10 on amazon. anyway, haven't played ut3, but i can say without reservation that ut2k4 is one of the best games of all time.
