Unreal Tournament 3, and your thoughts.

I havent heard much talk about Unrealtournament 3. It has been released as of late, and its been 3 years since the last release.

They used this engine for Gear of War and looks great. What do you guys think? Does the game stay true to the Unrealtournament genre?

I played a lot of the demo and loved it, but I am hearing some things about the game that the menus feel too much like a console game. It got a pretty good review, but I dont hear anyone talking about. Is everyone busy on crysis or what? Come on it's UNREALTournament!!!

They "fixed" the menu in a patch for the pc shortly after release. It's a solid game. I havent played the full version but it seems like more of the UT goodness we've seen since the original. I guess you dont hear too much about it because at this stage of the series' life, your either a fan or your not. it has a solid community so there should be plenty of players out there, even if there arent too many on these forums

I like the new UT, some how (and I don't know why) I didn't like 2004 that much but the new 1 has got me playing it again. The menu issue wasn't that big of a deal and since when is a game bad because the menu is weird?

The Unreal 3 Engine is one of the most beautiful and even with those graphics it still runs smooth and it's not because I have a 8800 cause I don't. I reckon if your a fan get, and since you played the demo and liked it you'll surely like the full version. If there is something I've learned it's that a demo is never as good as the full version...

Do you like the engine? Or do you like the old school cartoonish feel of the last game?LaNoOm

ut3 and gears of war for pc are duds. epic should learn from these mistakes fast or they will lose a lot of respect from pc gamers.rock_solid

UT originally came on the pc, it's way better on pc. Gears is another story

ut3 is hardly a dud

imho its a fun title overall. theyve cut back on modes though which is annoying.

overall id score it an 8 from me. looks lovely, it does what it does very well and its great crack. its also quite stable in my experience.

it looses marks though for the simple reason that i wouldnt remove UT2k4 from my HDD because 3 is there. modes have been lost (no assault...i love assault :( ).

well worth a look but id recommend UT2k4 over it to be honest.

I get owned so much online it's unbelieveable. Shooters like CoD4 made me slow...

I'm just hoping someone will write a post about how high the skill-level online is soon so I won't feel so bad...

I'm just glad it still runs on my old system :)

Although I do hope to upgrade my RAM for it.

I played the demo for over 10 hours. Like the Gamespot review said there just arent many shooters like UT.

There are some flaws in the game, but nothing that can't be fixed in a patch.

I think people aren't getting into the game as much because it's just such a diffrent feel then pasts UT games.

By the way the collectors edition box looks sweet!

The menus do make it feel like a console game (in my opinion), but that's no reason not to buy it.

It doesn't feel like a console game to me, just the menus are lazy.smokeydabear076

Ditto smokey, this is a great game if your a fan of UT you will enjoy this game. (Not the menus though) :P

I got it the day it came out. While the game is slower in pace that Ut2004 and the menus aren't as complex the gameplay definitely feels better. Some game modes were removed from Ut2004 but these modes weren't really all that popular. UT3 added Vehicle CTF which is pretty good, the vehicles are easier to handle, they added quite a few new vehicles based on a diferent race and the maps are much better in UT3. The graphics are insane on max detail and intense post processing and if you give yourself the excuse that because the menu looks so and so then the game must be crap then how can you call yourself a gamer. In my opinion UT3 is a more refined version of Ut2004 and is worth it.

The game is sweet but not one realy plays it online yet
