Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure if this should be in "off topic"

Anyways I'm looking at buying an Android tablet, this is going to be essentially a Christmas present for myself and girlfriend to share instead of exchanging gifts.

Currently I'm looking at the Galaxy 10.1 (new version), looks to be the best Android tablet on the market currently but please correct me if I'm wrong. What I'm curious about is if anyone knows of any new Tablets coming up within the next couple months. The last thing I want is to buy the 10.1 only to have a better option within a few weeks.

Any help would be appreciated.

November is the tentative release of Tegra 3 based tablets. The Transformer 2 is likely to be out by the of this year. There are no gurantees though.

Yes I actually was able to find that info out - some websites are even optimistic it might be released later this October but who knows. Only downside to it is it's expected to be priced at least $100 more than the initial cost of the original Transformer, although considering the processing power I'm sure it will be justified.

You might also want to give the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet a look. Seems like the best Android slate I've seen yet. That's going to cost about $530 minimum, though...

I have the transformer and it is bloody awesome, a month or two ago I was able to get it with the dock for no extra cost on amazon.

I've heard a second generation is in the works.

I have the hp touchpad 10.1. I paid $170 for it including tax. Best bang for buck in a long time. The webos has some issues hackers are working on a way to get Android ported to it. Its still good the way it is but it could use some extra functionality.

i didn't even root mine and i have loads of fun with it, beyond the normal stuff, the emulators are loads of fun, got a Game Boy, SNES and PS1 emulator :) once i figure out how to get my 360 controller working with it, i'll never be bored again :)
