Just think of playing World of Wacraft on that baby with surround sound. Here's a better close up http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/01/ces-2008-alienw.html
I think I was so astonished that I didn't even blink once until that video was over. I'm gonna go get eyedrops now, my contacts are extremely dry.ElArablol
You guys are overrating that thing... Not only will you need at least a9800 Ultra to play any games at full res on that thing, but the amount of devs that'll spend time writing code JUST for the200 or sopeople that bought that thing would be prettyslim withoutsome cold, hard,Alien cash. I'm just not into this thing unless good monitor companys like Dell and Samsung jump on this idea.Ps2stonyI'm pretty sure if you can run games on 2560x1050 monitor you can run games on that monitor. We all know it's high end hardware but current cards will be able to run games at that resolution maybe not Crysis:P but games like Half life 2, Cod4, World of warcraft ect. will be playable.
[QUOTE="Glugkiller"]wow does anyone know how much that will cost?fireandcloud
one billion dollars!
Wouldn't doubt it if it was... lol

It is DELL. I didn't click the link but I saw it on Tom's Hardware guide. Alienware is now owned by DELL (I'm pretty sure) Apparently the 'seams' will be fixed by release.
This looks wider than people's field of vision, so as previous poster points out you could just get a bigger HDTV for much less money (though price hasn't been announced yet). Also note this is not plasma or LCD, it's rear projection, so it's fat and heavy. I'm not saying I wouldn't want one though :)

Human fov is almost 180 degrees. With this you still cant see whats to the side of you.

If you think about it, it isn't an EXTREME resolution in terms of performance
1920x1200 = 2304000 pixels
2880x900 = 2592000 pixels
It's like having two 1440x900 res monitors

well yeah but I'm talking width relative to height (should of explained that better). You can still see the sides of an imax screen.
NEC has one as well and they gonna cost a crapload of bucks GP1mil
Yep.... It's kind of sad that the NEC monitor almost got ignored. They are the *exact* same monitor, the only dfference is one has an Alienware logo, one has a NEC logo. Take a guess on which one will probably be at least $1000 more expensive :roll:

Every other setting is pretty much at its lowest.
:o (Multiply that about 20 times) Woah. Wow....Woah.....very nice post.....but what kind of hardware did they have to run Crysis on those specs on THAT RESOLUTION?? PC technology is crazy.TheGamerUserMore then sure it's the 8 series graphic cards. Add that with a duo core processor at least and some beefy ram.
It says "Alienware"It is DELL. I didn't click the link but I saw it on Tom's Hardware guide. Alienware is now owned by DELL (I'm pretty sure) Apparently the 'seams' will be fixed by release.

Oh come ON. How was Crytek showing Crysis running great at max before release yet nothing for salecould max it at release? Do you THINK companys that work with computers get things when we do? NO!if you need a 9800 ultra to play full res. on that thing, how was he doing it?
