[Update] Jurassic Park Indie Game

Hello everyone, today we put out an update for the Jurassic Park game we are making. I would first just like to remind everyone that we do not have permission yet because so far we just have a library of models, once we get farther down the road in development we will try to get permission to finish the game. Also, right now there is nothing new about the engine so at a later date when there is, we will post some new stuff on it.

Basic Information:

"Since the beginning of time. Man has searched the earth for evidence of its past. But while some have looked for clues to the mystery; One man has found the way to bring the mystery back to life. Here on this private island, science has defied evolution. Genetics has mastered creations, and extinction is a thing of the past."

Jurassic Park is a title for the PC based on the novel and the film of the same name. It is planned to be a video game, but is currently a library of models based on the film and novel. The project is conducted with no involvement or affiliation to Universal City Studios or Amblin Entertainment. And all activities relating to Jurassic Park are without monetary gain.

Jurassic Park is about the collapse of an amusement park showcasing certain genetically recreated dinosaur species. It was a 1990 novel written by Michael Crichton, and adapted to film in 1993.

This is a non-profit game so we will not make money. By getting permission we will be able to put it up on the net so people can get it for free unless Amblin/Universal wants it to cost something.fugitmdup

Which wouldn't be surprising honestly, if they can make a quick buck, im pretty sure they will. Its not worth working on anything unless they do agree first since they can shut down the whole thing kinda like what happened to the Chrono Trigger remake project.

Why try and make a Jurassic Park game where there's 0% chance of you getting permission? Wouldn't it be a better use of your time to make a general dinosaur themed game similar to Jurassic Park, but not in breach of copyright? I mean, if you plan on releasing the game, that's probably what you'll have to end up doing anyway.

Looking good though, keep it up.

I don't understand why it's so difficult for the game industry to make a decent dinosaur themed game. So much potential, yet the few attempts there have been were lame at best. Maybe part of the problem is that there were no dinosaurs during WWII.
