Is it? Here are the rest of my current specs:

Intel Core Duo E7200

2 GB RAM

430 PSU

Hoping to improve performance of GTA 4 and Crysis.

Also, would the 430 PSU be sufficient enough to power the 5750?

Yeah, the 8600GT was pretty bad...couldn't max out WoW and struggled with Oblivion and COD4.

Thanks. What about my second question? Would my 430W PSU be sufficient enough to power the 5750?

Yup. The new 40nm ATI cards use very little power compared to the previous 55nm generation.

Depends on the PSU quality. Even a 300W quality PSU can probably run the 5750 Now since you were already running an 8600gt without problems then i assume its ok for the 5750 ( even though is much much much more powerfull card it draws just a little bit more power compared to the 8600gt so i guess you are ok )

Anything higher than an 8600gt will be a MASSIVE improvement. I went from 8600gt to 9800gt and MY MIND WAS BLOWN!!!!!

That wasn't a waste of money. A 9800gt is over twice as powerful as an 8600gt. An 8600gt can't even keep up with a 7900gt in DX9 games.

If I remember correctly the 8600 was slightly more powerful than the 7600 or was on par with it. It was severly gimped at release, and shunned by most of the gaming community becasue it was only slightly less expensive than its vastly supirior 8800 counterparts. Thats how I remember it, at least.

Just about any modern card will be an incredible improvement.

The 8600gt may have been a waste of money, but getting the 9800gt as an upgrade was NOT. The 9800gt is infinitely more powerful.

no sir, it only cost me 120 bucks and now i can play pretty much every game i have on max or almost max, whereas my 8600gt struggled on medium for newer games....it was worth every penny for me.

well I gave my friend a 8600 GT for Christmas which was quite an upgrade from his 8400 GS :P. Am I crazy? No but I know that an 8600 GT will suit him well for a little while since he mostly plays the Orange Box and RPGs. I got the card for free so that's why I gave it to him. See an 8600 GT can game but I realize that you will have to turn down the res a bit and even then you could probably not play Crysis that well but still it will play all of the other games :D look and see for yourself :P

see an 8600 GT actually gets slightly better frames than the 7900 GT and that's because the 8600 GT uses Stream Processor technology while the 7900 GT uses Pixel Pipeline Architechture :D.

I had a 8600 GTS before I got my current card, and it was actually a pretty decent card. I dunno how MUCH better it is then the GT, but it handeled games great at 1440x900 resolution. I could play Crysis on medium settings with decent FPS, but overall, good card. I gave it to my friend and he loves it (he had a 7300 LE, which was a POS!!!)

Not in the games I remember playing, and not in the reviews I remember seeing. At least not most of the time.

I'd like to see these "better frames". Direct benchmarks between 7900GT and 8600GT are pretty hard to come by, so Gamespot's GPU ranking system is the best I can find...
