Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade. My current specs are fine for gaming (at 1920x1200) but I could always use more power and I want to get

into gameplay video recording. I'm going to make the switch to Intel, but is there any new technology coming out I should be aware of?

i5-3570K

ASrock Z77 Extreme 4 Mobo

8gb DDR3 Corsair Vengeance

Kingston 120gb HyperX 3K SSD

Corsair HX650 V2

Antec P280 window case

And I'll keep my gfx card, CPU cooler and HDD. Make the upgrade now or should I wait a little bit more?

Wait it out, video recording is more of a hard drive resource then a cpu resource. also You can allocate a dedicated core for recording while using the other three for the game.

Looks like a good rig. It's good that you are reusing some of your parts, it will save you some money. I'd say to just go for it. May as well enjoy it now. You can upgrade to any new stuff when it comes out.

What GPU do you currently have? Provided its decent what you have should be good, speaking from experience, get a 1TB extra drive for storing the originals of your videos and recording to. Nothing fancy, you're going to wear the crap out of it with rewrites so I don't recommend getting a large SSD either.

Currently using a 7870 (probably upgrade later in the year). Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. I might use my external 1TB drive for originals. Thanks
