upgrade or new pc???

 okay, so when the demo for Battlefield 2142 was released i downloaded it and had a blast (despite some annoying crashes and lag), so much so that i went out and bought the game when it came out.

i played it for a while then went off of it, but recently i've been yearning to play it again (i don't use my pc for gaming that much mainly because i can't afford any new games). the situation with crashes and lag is so bad that now i can't even join a game. i need to know if there's anything i can do with my current hardware, if there are any parts i need to upgrade or if it would be easier to simply buy a new pc so i can expand my PC game catalogue.

i've copied some of my system specs from DxDiag.

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.80GHz

Memory: 512MB RAM

Upgrade this: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.80GHz
This: 512MB RAM
And this: NVIDIA GeForce 6200

Those specs are very low for BF2142DirkVDV01

 try to upgrade the amount of RAM you have to at least 1Gb or 2Gb depending on the money you have available at your dispense.

And the gfx card...ive heard that mid-range dx10 cards are coming out this april i believe (nvidia ones) so i would personally wait till then to buy another gfx card as i believe dx9 cards will go down in price too.

what i am looking for is the cheapest and most long-term solution to my wanting to play more pc games.

someone asked if it was a laptop? no it's a pc... i guess it bodes badly that my pc 'ware looks like a laptop's :/

thank god for technically minded people like you guys, all this jargon confuses me.

it sucks i need a new graphics card, i bought my 6200 a year or 2 ago and it cost £90... guess i know why lol
