Upgrade processor or graphics card (gpu)

CPU, its a bigger jump than the next GPU.

Upgrade the processor, and if your motherboard is compatable, don't upgrade to the i5. The i5-3470 is far superior to the Zambezi, more than enough to justify the extra 40 bucks. Cut and paste this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/cpu-charts-2012/benchmarks,140.html (Boy, oh boy, does Gamespot screw up links. I tried to link to a comparison, but it cut it short.)

Still, the Zambezi is a plenty good gaming CPU, and you'll get more from a better graphics card, as is almost always the case.

what is your overall budget?

for 700 you can probably get at least a 2gb 7850 and maybe an intel i5 or an 8-core AMD CPU

The statement for "The i5-3470 is far superior to the Zambezi" may not be true for all cases.

AMD's "Gaming Evolved" intervention is also being applied for the CPU side.
