Upgrade the processor, and if your motherboard is compatable, don't upgrade to the i5. Upgrade to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103960&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= Not only is it .4 GHz faster, and has 2 more MB of cache, but it has 8 freaking cores. I'm planning on building a rig with a 4.0 GHz processor (same family and series as this one, but $200), and I have a friend with a 3.5 GHz 8 core (same family and series and everything)

The i5-3470 is far superior to the Zambezi, more than enough to justify the extra 40 bucks. Cut and paste this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/cpu-charts-2012/benchmarks,140.html (Boy, oh boy, does Gamespot screw up links. I tried to link to a comparison, but it cut it short.)

Still, the Zambezi is a plenty good gaming CPU, and you'll get more from a better graphics card, as is almost always the case.

Im using the money I get from selling my 360 and games plus a couple hundred.. so $600-$700, and for $500 this seems like an amazing build, I just wanted to upgrade one of the two components to get even better performance. I may even upgrade them both, just depends on about how much its going to be costing.

for 700 you can probably get at least a 2gb 7850 and maybe an intel i5 or an 8-core AMD CPU

The statement for "The i5-3470 is far superior to the Zambezi" may not be true for all cases.

AMD's "Gaming Evolved" intervention is also being applied for the CPU side.

I can reopen cases.
