Ok umm heres the deal its im going to upgrade soon and I am wondering what I should get. I have :

8800gtx

AMD Athlon 4200+

2gb 800mhz ram

Foxconn K8M890M2MA-RS2H Motherboard

550w Power Supply

What do you guys recommend I upgrade I was thinking a q6600 and a Nvidia 680i motherboard. What do you guys suggest I get. Also how much of a difference does a motherboard make to gaming, and should I think about getting water cooling or something?.

Im from Australia by the way and because the exchange rate is so high I was wondering if anyone knows some cheap good sites that deliver world wide. Most of the things I buy are of ebay Australia.

I would really apreciate and help. Thanks guys.

Unless you plan on running an SLI rig, you might be better off with an Intel chipset. They seem to be a little less buggy. X38, or P35 if you're short on cash. If you do choose the Q6600, look on the box to make sure it's a G0 stepping one. The serial number on the box will end in SLACR for the G0 stepping version. If I were planning a build today, I think I'd wait for the Yorkfield procs near the end of the year. I heard the Q9300 is supposed to retail for around $270. A superior proc to the Q6600 Kentsfield. :)
