upgrading graphics card need help

im looking to buy a new graphics card for my pc i have a NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE that came with it dont know if its a good card or not...but still im looking to update i not looking for anything more than maybe...$160??

these are my pc specs

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ Processor & 2.4GHz

2GB DDR2 SDRAM.

 

is there anything else u should put?

for that price, i think you should get an Nvidia 7900GS which is just in your price range.

if you want a DX10 card, if you have Vista, you could look at the 8500's, but dont know a whole lot about them so...

the thing with that is if hes going to get a low end DX10 card when the DX10 games come out ill doubt you be able to play of high settings.

that looks like a really good deal. im really looking to play oblivion with better graphics would that card help improve it much more?

Yea a 8600GT can prolly max Oblivion... idk prolly with some stuff a little low but most on high with your specs

NewEgg.com is the best just search XFX 8600GT and get that XFX is the best next to EVGA

Im pretty sure you have a HP comp from the gpu(7500) My friend has the same and a GTS prolly wont hold to well on a 300w

as long as its not too old it will have a 300w with 19 amps on the +12v rail (pretty good and should hold a 8600GT/7600GT fine but no higher) ;) BTW I have a pavillion a1700n I upgraded the cpu and gpu tho it came with a 3800+ and 6150LE

barely, if at all! i would wait for ati to release their midrange dx10 cards. at least see how they match up. if they're better than the 8600 at all and not over $200, it will be your best deal.

Ati's cards use ALOT more power than Nvidia's idk why but just get the 8600GT b/c you proly dont wanna upgrade the psu right?

A brand name PSU 350W will be enough for 8600GT but I advice you to put your hands on that 7900gs.

i just checked my pc and i have a

 

bestec ATC-300-12z power supply (or whatever it's called)

i saw the the MAx is 300W

 

so i would need to change that as well right??

 

any suggestion on one?

You can run a 7600GT EASILY with that but no higher
