hi im planning on upgrading my computer that is getting quite old now to keep up with modern games.

im on a single core intel with a radeon x300

i will give my complete specs if needed but im planning on upgrading my graphics card first then moving to the rest of the system.

I dont need to max out all settings on all games(and i dont want to pay for it), im just planning on keeping up so they are still playable, which teh x300 clearly isn't doing.

today i found an

XFX Geforce 9400 GT 1GB

for £50 (which i thought was quite cheap) on play.com and as i know very little about graphics cards i just wanted your opinion on it or if you have any other suggestions in a similar price range or maybe even something a bit more pricey than that.

thanks

What kind of motherboard do you have?....

And you would be better off with an 8600GT than a 9400.

That gives no information whatsoever. Try this program: Everest Ultimate Edition 4.60.1500

It will show you just about everything you need to know about your computer, including your motherboard's name.

Once installed:

1. Click on the Motherboard tab on the left hand side of the program

2. Click on the Motherboard icon.

3. Right click Motherboard ID to copy. Paste it here.

4. Right click Motherboard Name to copy. Paste it here.
