Hey,

I am thinking of upgrading to a Intel Quad core right now from my current specs. Came up with this item:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115131

Is it good enough for my current specs? Well, I'll be upgrading my ram to 6GB as well. Specs in sign. Thank you.

Not worth upgrading imo. Just grab a cooler and OC your current cpu and upgrade mobo\cpu\ram later

I don't think it's worth the $200 for the improvement you are going to get. Unless you upgrading to play a game (which I don't think is in your case), I would wait; that and there isn't any benefit in gaming from 4 GB to 6 GB.

Thanks for replies. Now, putting that aside, I was thinking of upgrading the video card instead. So, is this one good enough and compatible to my specs:

Thanks again.

I'm thinking about it, but if i do that means i won't upgrade for 1-2 years until something with a bunch of threads is out at a decent price. Note: I crunch and use all my cores, you might not so a video card would be better, or maybe a monitor.
