I'm trying to use my lcd tv as a computer monitor, but when setting it up, the screen on the tv justy says "unsupported video signal". I'm connecting the tv to my video card over vga, and I'm not trying to force anything above its native res. I did get the tv to work if I used component cables but I want to use vga.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

The "unsupported" message can show up for two separate reasons: 1. The resolution is set to a mode the television cannot handle. 2. The refresh rate is set to a mode the television cannot handle. My suggestion: Connect a regular computer monitor to the PC and boot it. Change the resolution to 1024x768 and the refresh rate to 60Hz - most LCD TVs can handle that. Then switch back to the TV and change the settings to the TVs native resolution.
