I just bought a new PS3 and a 21.5 inch monitor to go with it (I no longer have an actual TV and PS3's don't work with Toshiba laptops). I got an HDMI cable, so that fixed one problem, but now I want to use my computer speakers with my PS3. Here's the exact speakers I have. http://www.amazon.com/Cyber-Acoustics-Subwoofer-Satellite-CA-3602/dp/B0027VT6V4/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1315386392&sr=1-3

you can do this if your speakers have a composite cable input (red and white) but it will be pretty complicated. you cant just use a composite cable because hdmi and composite are on different channels. you will need a hdmi splitter, 2 hdmi cables and a hdmi to composite converter.

Wow, you guys seriously overcomplicate even the simplest things.

Get one of those, and a female-female 3.5mm jack.

PS3 composite --> converter --> 3.5mm jack --> PC Speakers

Set your PS3 to output using composite instead of HDMI, done. It works fine as I use this method myself.

he is using his monitor as a tv with an hdmi conection. i doubt the monitor has a composite connection and as far as i know you cant run hdmi and composite at the same time on a ps3.

Um.. Yeah you can. Just select HDMI for video, and composite for audio.

Not that difficult, if you ask me :?

To add clarity, I believe Ravenguard90 means to go into the settings on the PS3 to make the aforementioned selections. Then all SicFounder needs to do is run regular composite cable (the red/white RCA cable) from the PS3 to his or her computer speakers.

Good luck!

I'm gonna give this a shot. I ordered one from the website. I'll let you all know how it works as soon as it arrives.
