Crysis will have the best ones imo. The engine and sandbox editor 2 is amazing. head down to www.Crymod.com , it is the official mod website supported by Crytek and you can view what mods are planned by what mod teams.

Empirically the UT engines are easier to mod and have many times more than Crytek games (although that is a limited selection). Undoubtedly there will be more mods for UT3, but quality is something that can't be predicted. Odds are that UT3 will end up with a stronger selection of quality mods only because of how many will inevitably emerge. For an example, just look at how many mods there are for UT2004 and how many of them won "mod of the year" or similar contests.

Thats a very good question I think that no one knows the answer. I was looking at crymod, and crysis has alot of quality mods, but UT3 will have a bigger community, but the way I see it is you have a larger gamer community you have a larger mod community, and crysis is outselling UT3.

http://www.moddb.com/games/78/unreal-tournament-2004/mods That shows that 161 strong mods and TCs were made for the last Unreal Tournament, a strong sign for a good mod community for the sequel. Plus, the former UT before 2k4 had a great community as well. Plus, Epic often had contests for its community for producing great mods, offering thousands of dollars to entice modders. I don't know if Crytek does the same, but UT already has a tremendous following considering the hundreds of sites dedicated to UT mods. I guarantee you can't go wrong with UT modding community.

If you want a comparison: My favorite game of 2004 was Far Cry, the spiritual prequel to Crysis. THey were released within months of each other (UT2k4 and Far Cry) and just look at what is available on the moddb profile for them.

As it sits now, the UT3 profile has these.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer Crysis to UT3, but the modding community will be better in the UT crowd: History has proven it.

*Also, I looked at the mods coming out for UT3 and if that Stargate one is any good at all, that will convince me to buy UT3*

Crysis seems to be much more moddable than FC and it seems more populaar on moddb (already has more mod in progress)

And i also like sigleplayer mods and Ut3 doesnt seem to have many, not even a shipped decent campaign....

But Uts mods seem soooo cool man although Crysis has good ones

BTW i prefer a site in which there are forums and ppl show their maps and discuss on forums just like Crymod

more? UT3

Better in terms quality? Difficult to say. I've been looking at the cry engine and it's tools. It's definitely very easy to get into, I'm personally going to look at it more during the next few weeks. My only experience was with Quake 3 and that was a while ago.

Well here's a question. Why can't you get both? I can understand not being able to get both at the MOMENT, but I think they're both definitely worth picking up eventually.

If I had to guess which one will have more and better mods, I'd say UT3. However, at the same time, the Crysis mod scene has been pretty vibrant and the sandbox is very easy to use.

But like I said at the beginning of this post, get both, eventually. ;)

Crysis mods will most likely be better. If someone ever makes a Predator mod for Crysis then it'll just be no contest.
