The Bad

They said it best. The only thing Bad about it is that it reminds you of console games. I won't argue.

The game looks fantastic, then again I wasn't one of the people that thought it looked bad when you could only set the settings to 3.do the graphics suck as bad as the demo? or are they better
becuse the graphics in the demo were butt ugly. Looked like an average 2005 game visually

I don't get why they had to make a "story" around the mp game modes and make up why we have to capture flags and we spawn, it just reminds me of the damn mitochondrians in the star wars prequels - completely uneeded.
Previous ut games get by just fine without much of a story. I'd rather a ladder/team system that was in ut2k4.
I think this game is excellent so far. I even like what I've played of the single player campaign, which is a change from the old UT's. It is disappointing that they dumbed down the interface, though.BioShockOwnzYeah it's really strange. I really have to wonder why did they do it that way? Anyway I am also having an excellent experience with the game so far.
I think they should have just stuck with the whole blood sport thing and maybe added a more arena type feel to the singleplayer. Like make you feel as though you were being watched by an audience of bloodthirsty people. It would have been better that way... if you ask me.I don't get why they had to make a "story" around the mp game modes and make up why we have to capture flags and we spawn, it just reminds me of the damn mitochondrians in the star wars prequels - completely uneeded.

I got the Unreal Anthology with my copy. Unreal and Unreal Tournament can still be fun.
Unreal II, I never really got into. It had nice graphics for the time, though.
Overall, I'm enjoying UT3 as much as UT 2003/4.

Unreal II was so ahead of it's time, when it came out though. The graphics are decent, the game's quite hard, and the weapons are some of the most imaginative i've ever seen. I'm glad they're bringing back some of Unreal's weapons in 3.
Eh, IMO should be a 9.5...
Really. As much as they're saying it's "same old" but "feels fresh.." I dunno. I think they were just flabergasted from Crysis's Single player, yet forgot to review its multiplayer... and they just went straight for single player weakness on ut3...
IMO that "weakness" should be worth .5 off the 10 scale, not 1.5.
UT3 is the most fun I've had in a shooter-- well, since UT2k4. For me, NOTHING can match the amazing pace and gameplay of unreal tournament... After playing ut2k4, I went back to halo for like 2 months, and the gameplay felt SOOO slow.
Then I went to CS:S. Very very slow.
Now back into UT3. Amazing. Haha, I've only played one game so far, and I got 3rd, best on my team, with 67 kills and 45 deaths(my team sucked).

Add me if you want :) I'll be religiously playing this game for the next few days, unless i'm coming down with an illness, which it kind of feels like tonight.
I'll have a dedicated server up for a clan called [SC] soon-- The server's a pain in the arse to set up over remote desktop... but I only spent a few minutes with it..
Not just that-- Warfare mode is amazing. The new vehicles are amazing. Weapons have been re-balanced and upgraded in most cases.
IMO, the UT series started out with a winning formula, and they're not ruining it, only adding to it.
I mean, how can you truly improve the series from other UT games? Name one major way.
BTW, GeoW2 is going to be the same thing. The first game was so utterly amazing that they'll just slightly add to the game. Entirely re-making it would be bad.
It's like halo. Except halo 3 was disappointing. If you have a winning formula, why ruin it?
I admit it's not all that much better than ut2k4, but ut2k4 was amazing. And the servers were all ruined by the clan [USSR].
Kinda killed the online experience for me. I'm aiming for UT3 to be a fresh start of the online community, and gather many, many more people into the amazing experience.

i agree. 2k4 is perfect. that's why i'm sticking with it instead of playing ut3. i skip every other installment anyway. i got ut. skipped 2k3. got 2k4. will skip ut3. probably will get ut4. and i also agree - there's not much improvement that can be made to an already amazing series.

i don't see that as a bad thing
it is actually the inverse... it lacks some basics functions, it lost all it's customization - alias, making it like a console game.Front-end interface has too many menus and selections to move through, which makes it feel sort of like a console game

2k4 was perfect, newbs skipped it and pretend they were fans of the original... it was pure pwnage, total leetness.
I'm still getting UT3 and playing the sh!t out of it... we'll mod that sucker down.
