I wouldn't expect VALVe not to be releasing EP3 anyways..

At this point in time I've pretty much given up on waiting for it. I love Valve and all, but taking this long for an expansion? They'd be better off just working on Half-Life 3.

They are working on it of course. We didn't need any proof. They aren't just going to stop after leaving it so open.

However they said they are going to move the Portal story line with the Half-Life story line. So we'll see Portal 2 first. Which is alright by me.

Well, we've found out from reliable sources its finished and Valve is just currently holding out on us. Our latest attempt to retrieve it has failed and we lost our agent.

At this point Valve should just make it into Half-life 3. There's no way it should've taken this long. It pisses me off that they managed to release 2 Left 4 Dead games and haven't even finished Ep3.

I was never in doubt that they're still working on Episode Three.

This coming November will mark three years since Valve released Episode Two. And personally, I haven't even finished Episode Two yet.

Valve's development cycles are long (anyone remember how long it took for Half-Life 2 to come out?) and hence, we must learn to be patient.

Though I do want Valve to release Episode Three before I graduate from the university.

Well, I'm guessing that it's taking them this long because maybe the game itself is longer than HL2, Ep1 and Ep2 combined and since it's the final part of Half Life 2 (Well they said it wouldn't be the end of Half Life though), they've got to be working on some climatic ending of some sorts.

And if you guys saw the Portal 2 gameplay trailers, they seem to be running on an update source engine now because you notice that there is real-time shadow casting going on now and not pre-rendered ones, so maybe it goes for the same as Episode 3.
