Thats pretty epic but I was hoping for something a bit different. Making the game DOTA2 basically says its fantasy. I was hoping for a TF2, tower defense mash up type of game.

Reading the article, all I see is that this is a remake of DOTA with better community features.

ye it has insane amount of traffic , i was trying to open the website for past hour or so and i finally got it , im half way trough that huge block of text ... :) looks like were finally getting a proper dota game ! i hope it wont have any cash shops like tf2 or lol ...Farkeman

Not wanting to get too off topic here, but do you think the cash shop in TF2 has really hurt the game? Seems to mostly be eye candy stuff and not game changing content...

Will be interesting to see if Valve includes this in future games.

ye , cash shop rly hurt the game , you can find or craft all the new weapons , but drop system is completely retarded and crafting takes ages ...
and sets are even more retarded if u buy 20$ worth hat for scout u get +25 hp etc. , that might sound minor bonus but its not !

DOTA=Defense of the Ancients for those who didn't know

I played HoN which I thought was pretty fun, so i am hoping this is similar. Is Valve even allowed to sell this game seeing as how it was originally based off of Warcraft?

Sounds like it will be good, but I'm not perticularly excited that its just dota with better graphics, and some social improvements like matchmaking. I was really hoping for some more inovation especially with several dota style games out right now.

Probably the first Valve game I have no interest in whatsoever.

It's rather amazing in itself that Blizzard never really picked these guys up to do an "official" game. Kudos to Valve though. They'll make a ton of money from this. Regrettably, I never really foumd much enjoyment with DoTA. :(

While I'll admit that I have had fun watching dota like games there are enough of them out there we need a new IP or to rap up their old IP half life.

Wow I just read the article, too bad it wont be out till next year. I find it funny that Valve is just basically improving the functionality and look of DOTA, I think HoN has already done that.
