Vampire Bloodlines eh eh?

Hey guys n' gals I would like to know if this game is good, Ive heard its epic fun but also heard it blows chunks.

Also its a lil old andSteam sells it for $20, is it worth $20 or is there a better deal somewhere?

you should find out whether the Steam support provides the unofficial patches for this game. these patches are absolutely essential.

should be pretty easy to verify. this game has quite a fanbase and i'm sure many on steam forums would know the answer.

well i know for fact that mods work with all steam games but not sure about unofificial patches, i remember when i got stalker soc version 1.5 from steam but all the MP servers were on an unoffical 1.6 patched version, i read that you could void the game or steam would get pissed or something, cant remember for sure but i'll def check it out first. also i just checked amazon and the 1 copy they have sells for 85$$ lololekultus

well thats settled then:D so is it worth my hard earned pesos or should i wait for a sale?

there are flaws - such as the combat, which is pretty lackluster - but it has great role playing elements. dialogues are wonderfully written, and some of the quests ( but not all ) can be very engaging.

however... $20 isn't exactly cheap for an old game from a dead studio. you might want to take a look at other gams. Deus Ex, for example, is much cheaper and is just as famous. but since you'll never know when it will go on sale, i'd say go for it if you absolutely want it.

Oh that game is worth it, no doubt about it O.o One of the better games Ive playied in... well ever...

I can not really figure out why anyone would say it is bad, it may be slightly restrictive, and the last third of the game feels a bit too heavy on fighting. But man what a game.

I tried really hard to like it and failed. I hated the atmosphere, the premise, the characters, the combat, most voice acting I heard in the 5 hours I played and the interface. The RPG mechanics were pretty good. And since it failed to grab my interest, I didn't care about the writing.

But then I generally don't give a **** about vampires or zombies, so it might be just that I'm an idiot and the game's brilliant.

It's one of the best rpg's I've ever played. Look past to it's some technical issues ( patches help ) . I got it from a steam sale about 3 years ago . I definately recommend it.

don't listen to Baranga :P, the voice acting is superb and the soundtrack is outstanding!!

it's one of the Ten Best games of the Decade, imo (and i don't really care for vampires!); and the best RPG since Deus Ex.

the Steam version works fine with the Unofficial Patches.
