I think it will have a lot of bugs since the release was rushed. But Sony updates a lot so in about 2 months there wont be that many bugs. If you buy it now, you'll probably be paying more since it just recently released. I wouldnt buy it just now.

Been playing for a couple of days (just because I NEEDED something new to play).  WOW brought real soloing to online games, and vangaurd must have missed that. Without the solo play this game is a real disapointment.  And that besides all the bugs.

I remember a friend playing beta a few days before the actual release. All I can say is that he went around casting a root/dot on mobs and massed experiance. It was probably the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life. He quit right then and there.

Even if it were absolutely perfect, it wouldn't beat WoW. It's an old school mmorpg, that is designed around hardcore gamers....WoW is successful because it appeals to casual/panzy gamers.

So casual gamers that have real lives and things to do other than fatten up in front of a game are panzies?  Good luck with life there, chief.

Casual gamers in the sense that do not like any challenge.. WoW in the end takes just as much time if not more for its linear improvement system at the end game.. All with less then 1/2 the difficulty reaching there, doing it, and no risks.. Thats basically what he is pointing out, I think.   I tend to agree if this is indeed what he/she ment.

Honestly I just say give it time.  EQ2 and Eve Online are two MMOs that had very bumpy launchs but sense then has been refined through numerous patchs to games that alot of people think are the best interesting enough.

The game was never expected to be a contender for WoW. The developers have said for a long time they would like to see a decent base of 250,000 - 500,000 people. Yes, the game has some bugs but none of them are game breaking or will keep you from having the fun you want to have. The servers are also incredibly stable, which is nearly a first for a just launched MMO. Right now the devs are patching every day or so (weekdays) and keeping up on fixing the bugs that do exist and tweaking the gameplay. Personally I feel the game is very enjoyable and in a game with a player run economy, limited housing plots, and a "you discovered it first" system I think there is plenty reason to jump in on the ground floor.

Except that the vast majority of that was fixed before launch.

I've had a total of one broken quest and it was very minor and certainly nothing I would consider "game breaking".  Other than that minor snafu, I haven't encountered any of your other delusions.  I must be lucky I guess. Anyhow, name me another MMORPG that was completely bug free on launch?  I can't think of one.

Never had a broken quest, fell through the world once in some odd location, mobs do disappear but they're technically still in front of you, moving to the side will bring em back (not an excuse but as major as he makes it sound). I enjoy VG a lot. The world is vast and fun to explore. Leveling is really slow now so don't go in thinking you'll be level 30 in a week.

If Sigil can work out some of the kinks Vanguard might just fill a niche that a lot of old-timers MMORPG players have been trying to sate recently.

In an interview, they said it group based, but WILL have solo capabilities! He really did say that.  And no, there is no more room for "group force". Every game that has done it since WOW fails.  Problem is people want both.  And they have been shown they can have it (ie WOW).  Have people want to group, thats ok.  Make the only option group, that not ok.  Besides you loving this game so much you feel the need to argue for it, there is no reason not to have both.  Not any good ones.
