If some of you didn't know, there are dozens of symbols and accents that you can use - using nothing more than your ALT button and ur keybad.

Here are some examples..

symbols - ♂ ♀ ▒ ▓ ♪ ¶ Σ Φ Ω φ ∞

accents - ü é à å Ä ÆÜ ç

Here is a list of CODES .

Why is this important? In case you wanted to add a particual symbol or accent when trying to converse with someone of a different country - or to add nifty looking symbols to ur texts ! Either way, having this knowledge adds to your PC expertise.

Have fun.

I did know about these because I used to dabble in HTML and such. That's a good list right there. You can also use Windows' Character Map if you need to find a symbol or its shortcut

If you're on Linux ctrl + alt + f1 is nice, and ctrl + shift + backspace on Linux lolololol.

I used to know a whole lot of them back in the DOS days (for several reasons). But that was a different time - and a different codepage (437). Still remember alot of them, but I'm rusty. Unicode ftw.
