For the last three weeks every time I started my pc my 6800gt would beep two times really fast. Today I tried starting up company of hero's and the screen turned into a giant artifact. So I turned it off and started it up about an hour later and it ran fine until I tried to play another game. Now the thing even has artifacts on the bios. If I use my onboard card I don't get any artifacts BUT every time I try to play the sims 2 it give me some error and goes into safe mode. So is there something other then the video card thats messed up or is the 6800gt just fried? I did order a new card from newegg that should get here monday (it's time to upgrade anyway) but does anyone have any ideas about the 6800gt?

Well, does your onboard video meet the min specs of the sims? Did you uninstall your nvidia drivers and install your onboards video drivers? Did you use driver cleaner pro?

Yes, no, yes, no. But I really don't want to admit that my card is fried. Believe it or not but a month ago I got on newegg and was 5 mins away from ordering a new card when they sold out. If I could have got it then the 6800gt wouldn't have already been sold on ebay and pc would have had a new card. I just don't have any luck.

Put this fan/card as close as you can to the graphics card in a pci slot below it and put it at half speed and see if it helps if it dont try full speed and then if it dont help buy a new graphics card.

well he's already ordered a new card. but yeah, it sounds like it got too hot, but didn't quite fry. if it fried you would be getting the RGB test on your monitor. so what card did you get?
