That will not work. He is trapped in the same situation I am, the hp cases are too small for any of the modern graphics cards. The most you can get for your comp. is an Nvidia 8600gts, and for that, you will need to get a bit bigger power supply. I have measured, and these hp cases are not big enough for the 9 inch cards that other people have in their custom built comps.

if you want to play Crysis a 300w won't do. You really need Vista, which I see you have, and DirectX 10 for Crysis and any GOOD DirectX 10 is going to recommend a 400w or higher PSU. I just upgrade my PSU and GPU and went with the Antec NeoHE 550w PSU it's awesome. It's on sale for only $100 at amazon right now. It works with both 20 and 24-pin and 4 or 8-pin MOB and it uses Modular cables for eveything else meaning you only attach the cables you need. Both Nvidia and ATI are coming out with new top of the line DirectX 10 cards between Nov. and Q1 2008 so expect the current ones to have a price drop. Crysis will run on a DirectX 9 card but is NOT recommended. Microsoft recommends the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB or higher. Go to www.yougamers.com and test your system on Crysis and see how it rates and it will make recommendations on upgrades. Also, RAM is always on sale some where so it's never a bad idea to upgrade your RAM.

FYI, the new Pavilion Elite models must use a different motherboard, because Amazon has a model with an 8800GTS in it.
