Pretty soon I am going to buy a green screen and maybe a projector. I will hopefully become really good at video editing and become youtube famous. Aside from Windows Movie maker, I have no video editing experience, where should I start? I want to start out by learning over exaggerated effects such as explosions and rediculous effects like this

I love adobe after effects, I used to use that all the time in middle school and a bit in hs. Very nice, has great green screen stuff like I think it's called keylight. Check out videocopilot.net for nice tutorials

+1 for AE which I use primarily for special effects. Get Premiere pro as well. If you have the money, buy Adobe Production Premium CS5. It has all the things you need to produce an independent film. Oh and i think you are in the wrong forum :o so ill make this quick. Making a good video is not all about special effects especially becoming a youtube star.

I have dabbled with Sony Vegas and found it powerful and easy to use. This is one video I managed to conjure up after limited usehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv0XDpEkYI0. Not sure about Adobe premiere but that looks good as well.
