Vista 32 bit only uses 3 Gibs of RAM?

Hi guys, I've been reading everywhere that vista 32 bit only uses 3 Gigs of Ram, is that True?

would I be wasting my money if I buy 4 Gibs?

I curently have 2 Gigs of Ram that came with the computer, but I'm upgrading my pc. I recently got ATI Saphire 4870 HD 1Gig, so I think the boost in Ram will help.

What do you guys think?

Vista 64 basic can utilize up to 8gb. I can't see most people needing more then that for a long time. Honestly, 4gb is enough for your gaming needs for now.

I was speaking specifically of the basic version which is limited to 8gb. Business, Enterprise and Ultimate versions do indeed go up to 128gb, but I saw no point in mentioning that as it's complete overkill and a waste of money.

Do I have to actually buy Vista 64 bit or can I just ugrade it from my 32 bit?

My CPU is AMD athlon 64X2 so I know it supports it, and my motherboard supports up to 16 GB or ram.

Where can I get vista 64 for Cheap??? don't I already get a discount since I'm already running vista??

search the net if you dont want to buy it thats the best choice and alternative you have for the cheap one but remember most of the games wont run on X64 platform , so i dont recommend you a 64BIT OSshootingspy
