Generally 64-bit OS's tend to have a few more problems than their 32-bit counterparts. Vista's done good so far at minimizing that, though. If you want to take full advantage of that 4GB of RAM (not that you would anyway, unless you're doing very heavy applications like video encoding and such), go with 64-bit. Just be advised that there could be some compatibility problems with it. If you want more stability/compatibility/driver support and are willing to sacrifice some of that memory, go with 32-bit.

From what I hear there is a lot less support for 64-bit vs 32-bit, in other words you have a higher chance of something not working with the 64-bit version. But maybe someone who has it can confirm or not what I have said.

you need the 64 version to handle 4g memory, the 32 only goes t 2g:Pand get the 6700 its th same price as the 6800 (and yes the support for the 64 version is not so good)

64 bit definitley. If you got 32 bit you'd only be able to use 2 gigs of ram.

Oh so wrong. 32-bit Vista can use up to 4GB of memory, which includes RAM. You'll never be able to use the full 4GB with a 32-bit version, true, but you can DEFINITELY use more than just 2GB.

Not with 1.5gb tied up in video cards it can't.

I'd get the 64-bit version now. Yes, there are some issues, but they are being addressed, and will continue to be improved in the weeks and months ahead. You can use much more RAM, and have a forward-looking OS ready for the future. If you can't stand the thought of maybe running into some issues in the short-term though, go with 32-bit. Just be prepared that you will probably want the 64-bit in the not-so-distant future, when games and other apps want more than just 3 gigs of available RAM.
