Well if you can handle no drivers and or horrbile drivers, get the 64 bit version. Its gonna get updating after the 32bit version for drivers everytime. And why not, more people use 32bit and majority of people in this world rock 1gb at the max. 64bit will be better once they pay more attention to it. Its got 4gb support and higher, plus having a 64bit CPU and a 64bit OS will improve perfomance in apps and games. Also I think only UT04, Source and FarCry support 64bit for games right now.64 bit apps wont help games much, but they do take away 4 gig limit so you can, get high perforamnce. But also you should note 64 bit helps for higher calculations that games don't use its mainly for like video apps and 3d modelling

But 64bit programmed games will improve performance along more enhanced graphics, better physics, better view distances, map sizes and textures detail.

honestly I would go with the 64-bit version,
Vista already has all the chipset drivers preinstalled and sata drivers all those goodies.
All you need to find is your video card drivers and sound card if you have one, also printer.
I am running Ultimate 64-bit with a X1950pro and Audigy 2 ZS plus an Epson CX7800 and I have 64-bit drivers for every thing. and all programs I use install perfectly on 64-bit. Vista 64-bit supports MUCH more than windows X64 did
see franc0 knows what im talking about, with windows x64 drivers were hard to find, with vista 64-bit its simple to find drivers, they either come pre-installed in the OS, or campanies already have them out.
I honestly think Vista is the gateway to 64-bit computing hitting the mainstream
Well I dont know why you guys are having no problems. Consider majority of blogs, forums, even M$ sites state that there is poor support for 64bit not only from M$ on there Internet Explorer, but from GPU comapnies, printer companies, media companies, sound card drivers, SATA, Internet. I mean the list goes on and on.
The system that tests to see if youre PC is good enough for Vista, it only tests for 32bit CPUs, even if you got a 64bit in there. The reason why? Majority of the world is on 32bit CPUs.
Im not syaing 64bit is bad, infact I am goin 64bit, but after a Service Pack. I know there are driver problems galore and for you guys to say there isnt, I find wrong. Infact even 32bit has problems, its a new O/S. No O/S released has even been flawless. If you think it is, then you must have proof that the boogey man, big foot and Lochness all are real.
The only reason why nVidia users even have a 64bit driver for Vista, is cause it was leaked. Or else it wouldnt be out yet. Why are they not out on nVidia site? Because they dont even have them ready yet, but people got them cause they were leaked.
I dont know what to tell you man.
I am using
AMD 64 3400+ (OCed to 2.5ghz)
2Gb PC3200 ram (4GB total with ready boost enabled)
X1950pro 512mb AGP
DFI LANPARTY UT Nforce 3 250gb
Seagte 320GB SATA II 16mb Cache
160gb Maxot ATA/133 (backup and music)
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
those are my specs and I am running the 64-bit version of vista no issues, and so far I havent come across a program that wouldnt install or run
Well first off, youre not even running a Dx10 card, so write that off. And youre not using a X-Fi so write that off. But even M$ spokesmen say that 64bit is way behind 32bit for drivers, especially in GPUs, Sound Cards, SATA and Media. Apparently quite rediculously behind.I dont know what to tell you man.
