I recently got Vista for free through my school, legit and with my own key.
I have a X1950, and I recenlt updated my bios cause of this problem without any difference.

I looked at various boards and it seems like this is a known problem for newer graphics cards like the 1950 and the 8800 for Vista.

The Problem:

I try to install catalyst for my video card but it cannot find my video card (catalyst install manager) inorder to install it.
I updated my bios on my motherboard, no change.
Tried uninstalling etc and reinstalling, no change.

I'm guessing I'll have to wait for a new driver update from amdati, however does anyone have any hints or suggestions for me on how to get it working? Does anyone else have a similar problem? Same card on vista (Pentium processor 2gb of ram)?

I actually like vista cept for a few minor things however I can't do any gaming until I get this fixed.
My score is like 4.7, 4.6, 5 maybe, then two 1's cause my graphics card isn't setup, and the rest 5.0's.

If it's the wrong forum please forgive me and move it.

Yeah, the faster boot-up was the first thing I noticed, the second being the crisper image quality ( although it could just be me. )
