BTW I have 2TB of HDD space total and 250GB devoted to Vista alone. I have 6GB of memory and 9GB of pagefile memory on 1 HDD alone. And more then a dozen of the latest games installed. I still don't believe you...
system restore is to restore your computer to a previous state.. you can turn it on and off
go to my computer>system properties>system protection>system protection tab and it will tell you what restore points you have for what drives...
the reason it can take up alot of gb is cause a new system restore point is created every time you install something which acknowledge's you have on system restore, there is also a feauture for vista to make a new one every 24 hrs ..
oh and i also heard it could also restore some viruses so you should take it off before a scan..
Grab an app like CCLeaner and remove the crud from your system.CellAnimation
be sure to get the slim version without the toolbar cause some security apps like norton detect the toolbar as malware..
hope i helped:)

nice 2tb and lol 250 gb to vista
it is wise if you manually make a restore point and name it something like Clean State after a virus scan cause a virus could make one as the default restore point name so if your computer gets messed up by a virus you can restore it to a stable state and turn system restore off and run a scan its worked for me in the past :) but some viruses like Ciadoor turn off system restore:(...
if a few gb is too much to one day save your computer, your the virus..
cause system restore helped me in the past
LOL..........pics or it didn't happen :P I disable System restore so meh...........X360PS3AMD05Same... I switched off System Restore en-favor of complete OS backup.
ye im sure and i remembered someone mentioned thats its growing because of the system restore point and maybe i said too much but like 1-2 gb for sure and like 200 k files lol and i have no viruses and its vista home premium 32milosbeli
If you're great at remembering things to do, I would turn off the system restore scheduler and make manual restore points by yourself. I only recommend this for ther responsible type with good memory. :P
