Is vista reliable enough to use for every day tasks like internet and microsoft word? Cause I have to choose between vista and xp but im not sure cause I heard bad things about vista...but im getting an 8800gts 320mb XXX to play DX10 games like Gears, Crysis, and stuff on. so is it safe or less reliable?

It's fine, especially when using a video card like that. Just make sure you have at least 2GB's of RAM, and a good processor, preferably dual core, if you plan on playing games.

I've actually found Vista to be more stable than XP. Other than some program compatibility problems which are to be expected with a new OS its run fine. One hint though turn off UAC its a security risk sure but no more than youve had the past five years running XP. It helps compatibility and I have more than one program I had to launch as an admin to get them to work properly.
